So these are my favorite looks from this summer! You can click on each photo if you want to see each entire look as a whole. Which look was your favorite?? I think my favorite is the black peplum top with ripped skinny jeans and fringe heels! My style going forward will be more fall themed, especially as the weather get cooler and cooler! Time for some fresh new fall styles!

Spots from the Loft

Trying to get a few more summer looks in before it gets too cold in New England! On one hand I get really upset that the sunny warm summer months are coming to an end and my pool days are down to zero. O the other hand though, I get a little excited to switch up my wardrobe and start wearing warmer clothes again. It is almost like getting a whole new wardrobe because my clothes have been put away in a trunk all summer just awaiting my return in the fall! So I am a little happy to be seeing them soon… and happy to share some new fall looks with you too!

There are so many great sales currently at retail of summer clothes! If you were missing a few items that you never got around to purchasing this year, now is the time to get them — on clearance and while you still can! I saw this cute top on clearance at the Loft a few weeks ago, amongst many other cute things I wanted to buy… had to pull myself away! Thanks for reading! I am hoping to get back on track with my posts in the coming weeks!

A Blazer is a very quick and easy way to add a little class to any look. They can really be worn with anything, and are super “in” right now. It is the perfect little jacket to grab before work on a chilly morning, wear in the office, and even totally acceptable for drinks after work too! What more can you want from a piece? This one came from H&M last year, but I have a little black one that I scored from Salvation Army for just $5. I read somewhere a while ago that Thrift stores are loaded with blazers, and boy was that article right. If you are ever strolling by, drop in and take a look for yourself, and you may just find a little deal and new jacket! Just make sure to push up or roll the sleeves, that is the trend! Happy hunting! Thanks for reading!

Summer Pop Color take 2

I have to say that the color combination of black and white with a pop color is one of my favorite looks, (see post from here¬†and here as well). This open front type of cardigan is called a “cocoon cardigan”. The style is very cute and trendy, but I have to give a tip to anyone wearing one. I had a hard time finding tops to wear underneath this cardi, until I realized what the problem with it actually was.¬†I find that when I wear a looser fitting shirt underneath this type of cardigan, it tends to make me look a lot wider and heavier than I really am. Plus, with this one, it doesn’t help that it has stripes too! So with that said, if you do decide to sport this style, please make sure you are wearing something a little more fitted underneath, so it will keep you looking slim. Hope this little note will help someone rocking this style! Thanks for reading! ūüôā

This is one of my favorite dresses, It is a real feel good piece. Maxi dresses are very popular, and have been for a few years. I had a work trip in Chicago earlier this Spring, and I couldn’t believe how many women around the city were so effortlessly rocking their maxi’s. It had to have been the most worn item of clothing walking around that city! It made me think I need to step up my game and get a few more nice maxi dress this summer. It is a very simple outfit that is always trendy. Pair your maxi with flats, or heels to lengthen your legs, and you are ready!

Mixed Print dress

The trend of mixing prints is huge right now. I have not yet been able to master the look of mixing prints with two pieces, but the style can work with a dress like this one (and it is effortless) I got this dress last year really cheap from JCPenney, and I thought it was so ugly that it was cute… I actually refer to it as my “ugly dress”! With back to school shopping just around the corner, it may be a good trend to learn towards if you think you are daring enough to pull it off!

A lot of blogs have been doing looks that consist of chic black and white looks. Inspired, I pulled together this outfit from items I already owned. The tank is from JCPenney last year, very simple and casual, but worked perfectly with this look. I scoured the interwebs to find a bunch of other cute black and white tank top options if you are interested in trying this look on your own! Check you closet first though, cause you may already own a nice top you could pair with white pants to recreate this look in your own way! Make sure to add a nice pop color into your look – it is super trendy and cute, and perfect for the warmer summer months. Sometimes you can work in a few pop colors, like I did here with the necklace and clutch. Hope everyone tried this look out, it is very chic and kind of fun! Happy hunting, and have a great weekend!

Silmming Layers

The vest and necklaces here totally make this outfit. Imagine this look without those two items… it would be acceptable, but really nothing special. It can be that easy to add a few pieces to an ensemble to pull it all together and make it look more on trend and stylish just like that.¬†This is a very simple way to spice up a look. As I have mentioned before, vests are super “in” this season – from crochet (like mine) to denim and more jacket-like vests – I am all about it! Adding dimension to an outfit is also slimming, Looser layers like this one can help hide some of the curves of your body you may want to conceal (hello love handles)!¬†To see a few other ways I have styled this vest, you can see the same one here and here.

It could be the two-tone necklace, the gold chain-laced straps, or the white and gold mix that give off a Grecian vibe to this look. It was a very hot day, and the simplicity of this outfit was perfect for fighting the heat! This “braided” braid is my new favorite summer hair style. Since my hair has a lot of layers, when I do a regular braid, I always have pieces sticking out everywhere. With this style of braid, everything is very tight and there are no little ends sticking out. It is so easy to do, stays in all day and is hassle free! 3 Steps: Separate hair into 3 sections like you would to do a regular braid. Braid each section as its own braid. Then, use each braid as you would with sections, and braid them together. Good luck to all who attempt this easy breezy summer style! ūüôā
