MEET LAUREN CHAGNON: ’47 BRAND STYLIST

How would you define your style?

My style is kind of all over the place. If I see a style I like, I try to reinvent it by adding my own twist to the look. I have always loved knee-high boots.  I’d say my go-to look is blue/black skinny jeans, a cute blouse with a cardigan, and some snazzy boots. I love layers, so usually have on 2-3 shirts every day. I am a shopaholic. It’s kind of a problem because, living in a renovated Loft I don’t have much closet space, so I am always re-arranging my closet to make everything fit. I have a lot of clothes, but I try to get rid of items I don’t wear often. I convince myself by thinking, “if I get rid of this, I can get new clothes to fill it’s hole.” Again, it’s a problem haha.

What are you working on right now?
We just wrapped on a photo shoot out in LA. It was a blast! I was proud to be part of it and was a great learning experience. I also just finished an NFL fashion show in New York City that we put on the night before the Superbowl. Next up is our Spring 2015 catalog shoot, quickly approaching in April. We are in the early stages of planning for that now.

’47 Brand Fashion Show, MLB Night Game

I had a big role in our company’s “MLB Night Game” Fashion show held back in May. We flew out to Chicago for a long weekend and finally were able to attend the event we had worked so hard on for so many weeks. We had to do all of the planning without meeting any of the models, seeing how the clothing fit them, and without seeing the venue. Tough to create a great event without being able to see so many different aspects of it all! The show went off flawless, the models were great, the product was welcomed with excitement and cheering, and the night was a homerun (pun intended)! I am so happy and excited to share some of the work I do at my day job! Please click on the photo above to watch the video, and see photo’s below for a few other shots from the night!

July 1st! I can’t believe how fast this summer is going by. This is my second look with this maxi skirt, the first one is here. I really love how easy this skirt is to wear. A maxi always looks styled, even if you just pair it with a cute tank top or button up chambray (totally “in” right now over dresses and skirts!!). The vest that I suggested below from Nordstrom is adorable (I actually like it better than mine), perfect for adding a little something edgy to your look. Lighter pieces for layering are always popular, but are especially good for the summertime to add some style to your look. With a vest like that, all you have to add is a plain tank underneath, skinny jeans, heels and voila – you have an easy, put together, stylish look! Get on your layers ladies!!

I went shopping last weekend! I had a gift card that I got for my birthday that I have been “saving”, and last Saturday was 100% the day to use it. I found SO many items that I really wanted at TJMaxx, it was a”hit” day. I am trying to save money, so I tried really hard to only buy items that I really wanted, and not to go over the amount that was on my gift card. I was proud of myself for putting things back that I didn’t “need”, and I only spent $1.16 over my budget! It was a good day for me! I ended up buying 2 dresses (the one in this post), and these fabulous Franco Sarto wedges. I have been looking for another pair of brown wedges because they go with everything. These are 4″ heels, taller than I normally wear, but they just might be the most comfortable shoes I own. Thank you Franco Sarto, I guess you will be a brand I stick with and suggest!

I have been wearing a lot of dresses lately, but it’s summertime, so why not? Running errands, working, grocery shopping… I still notice what people are wearing and how stylish they are! If you have summer dresses sitting in your closet, there is no better time to be wearing them, so dust them off and rock them before fall comes and you miss out!! It is an easy way to be chic, comfortable and stylish for the season, and who doesn’t feel good when you know you look good?!? 😉

I am so excited about my new necklace. I saw one of these while watching The Bachelor a few years ago, and have wanted one ever since. It was hard to find by google, but I just got this one for my birthday from my family, and have been wearing it a lot. This is one of my all-time favorite tank tops. I saw it last year at Express, and had to have it. I wear it a lot, I have to try NOT to wear it! My skinnies are also from express. I have 2 pairs of black skinnies, one that I usually wear, and these older more faded ones. I recently saw a blog post from the Brooklyn Blonde that I loved, so I used that as my inspiration for the jeans, I thought, “why not rip them? I do have 2 pairs”. And so my ripped black skinnies were born! I used to rip so many of my jeans, I really love the edgy look they take on. Why pay for jeans with holes in them? It is easy to do, you just have to actually “rip” them, no scissors allowed!

This dress is another great sample from work, it’s such a cute casual sun dress that I can wear to work with a cardigan. I actually helped with the development of this piece a year or so ago. It does fit really well and was/is a great seller at retail! Every now and then I do have some really good suggestions for the designers! I will hopefully have pictures and a video soon from the fashion show we did 2 weeks ago for Major League Baseball in Chicago… I can’t wait to share with you all of the images from the great show my team and I produced! SOON!
