printed pant inspiration

This was my inspiration for this look. I changed it around a little and made it my own by adding the necklace, scarf, and the pop of color with my favorite clutch. The idea of mixing the printed pant with a beige top and white tank came from this stylist! Rachel Parcell of Pink Peonies has amazing style and is one of my favorite bloggers. She is 100% someone to follow for inspiration! The weather here in New England is getting a little chilly, so I had to go with a bootie rather than heels like she paired the look with, but I think I actually prefer my look!

Simple date night look

This cute little top came from Forever21. It can be worn with jeans for more of a low-key look, or paired with a sharp necklace, heels and skinnies for a cute night out! My look here (and my styles in general) are more “going out” than laid back. I like feeling pretty and girly, and I looove heels!! Add a cute printed or patterned clutch to this look and I am ready to go!

It could be the two-tone necklace, the gold chain-laced straps, or the white and gold mix that give off a Grecian vibe to this look. It was a very hot day, and the simplicity of this outfit was perfect for fighting the heat! This “braided” braid is my new favorite summer hair style. Since my hair has a lot of layers, when I do a regular braid, I always have pieces sticking out everywhere. With this style of braid, everything is very tight and there are no little ends sticking out. It is so easy to do, stays in all day and is hassle free! 3 Steps: Separate hair into 3 sections like you would to do a regular braid. Braid each section as its own braid. Then, use each braid as you would with sections, and braid them together. Good luck to all who attempt this easy breezy summer style! 🙂

Swans in the park

Just before our photo shoot we were crossing over the bridge in the park, and we came across a family of Swans with their adorable ducklings! We had to stop on this gorgeous day and admire the beauty of this picturesque scene laid out right in front of us, it was truly amazing… not something you see every day. I figured I would add one of the photos to help set the mood so maybe you could see the beauty in what we happen to come across. 🙂

I get a lot of compliments on this top when I wear it. It has a great open back detail that is so fun and different. Someone once old me when I was wearing this outfit that I “looked like I came right out of a magazine spread”, and I will forever love this outfit because of that! As I have said before, animal prints (and prints in general) are very on trend right now, so make sure you have at least one item that has a good pattern. It is the type of print that will never really go out of style, so it can almost be considered a staple piece to have at least one item. If you are a little nervous to go full on print with a blouse or pants, it is always fun to add animal print shoes, bags, even jewelry… just make sure NOT to wear them all together – one piece at a time please!! I know I have my share of all of the above! 🙂

Blue Cut Out Dress

This cut-out style is very “in” this year, there are so many dresses that are designed based on this trend. They are adding this design detail to every style of dresses, from Maxi’s, to Bodycon (frame hugging), fitted or flared, tight or loose dresses, and even carrying the style over to tank tops too. Some have cut-outs on the back, sides, shoulders, and some are even strategically placed on, around, above or below the chest! This dress fits me perfectly and is super comfy, and the back detail is pretty subtle so it can be worn for a few different occasions, I love it! It’s almost like the slogan, “business in the front, party in the back”! If you are headed to any weddings of dressier functions this summer, keep the cutout style in mind, even if it is just a tiny one, you will still be on trend! I love the pop color of my nail polish with this dress too, I just got them done a few days ago, now my toes need to catch up and get a fresh coat too!

“Brights” Out

Brights are showing up more and more as we move further through spring and closer to summer! Pastels and floral prints are good for spring, but bright pop colors are fun and trendy for summer, and they look awesome with a tan! I may be a little early on the vibrant colors, but I got a hint of summer on my recent vacation to Florida, and now I am even more eager for the warm summer weather! I feel like I look healthier with a tan too!

I Nabbed this top a few weeks ago from JCPenney, for just $15 (with a coupon) and I love the color! I always park at JCPenney when I go to the mall, so I walk through the store a lot, and stuff is constantly catching my eye. I can never get out without trying on at least one thing (and by 1 thing I mean 5)! Maybe I should consider parking somewhere else, but I get some good finds there, and you really can’t beat the prices!

Pallet Party

Yay for color blocking! I like this look a lot, I think it works because the grayscale colors of the sweater really stand out and flow nicely with the pop of the red pants. The Black boots help to ground the color, and even it out a little too. The pallet boards are a pretty cool background too!

Changing up the look a little today with a dress! Still a little cold out for bare legs, but Spring is getting closer and closer! This dress is pretty casual for a dress, it’s from TJMaxx. There are soo many super cute spring dresses out everywhere already, I want to buy them all! Since I never like to wear the same dress twice (more formal dresses), I am always looking for something cute, sexy AND importantly cheap… I do have to be able to afford my own rules! My secret place to get a good deal on a dress, whether casual or dressy, is Burlington Coat Factory… good selection, great dresses and awesome prices! They also have great home decor there too as a bonus! Hope you like the dress, thanks for reading!

Wednesday, February 20th

Happy hump day! Love this outfit today, royal blue is a great color. I got these pants on clearance last year from Express for just $30! (If only I had read the care label a little closer, I would have saved my grey skinny jeans from getting ruined in the wash!!) I really like flared pants, I think I need to start getting them into  my routine more often! Blazers, as I have mentioned before are so versatile, and fitting for women of all ages! They can really style up any outfit you add one to.
