The trend of mixing prints is huge right now. I have not yet been able to master the look of mixing prints with two pieces, but the style can work with a dress like this one (and it is effortless) I got this dress last year really cheap from JCPenney, and I thought it was so ugly that it was cute… I actually refer to it as my “ugly dress”! With back to school shopping just around the corner, it may be a good trend to learn towards if you think you are daring enough to pull it off!

The vest and necklaces here totally make this outfit. Imagine this look without those two items… it would be acceptable, but really nothing special. It can be that easy to add a few pieces to an ensemble to pull it all together and make it look more on trend and stylish just like that. This is a very simple way to spice up a look. As I have mentioned before, vests are super “in” this season – from crochet (like mine) to denim and more jacket-like vests – I am all about it! Adding dimension to an outfit is also slimming, Looser layers like this one can help hide some of the curves of your body you may want to conceal (hello love handles)! To see a few other ways I have styled this vest, you can see the same one here and here.

Pretty simple look for a hot summer day! Still loving these Converse sneakers, and still seeing them on a lot of other blogs too. I don’t own too many hats (especially for someone who works for a hat company!!!), but this is my favorite one. I have a really small head, so I have a very hard time finding hats to fit me. I usually wear kids hats and sunglasses, but it’s hard to find stuff that doesn’t look too “kiddy”. This hat was specially made for my little head 🙂
My boyfriend’s parents just got a new Bernese Mountain puppy, and she is so adorable. Puppies are one of my favorite things ever. She posed with me so perfectly in these photo’s! 🙂

This striped dress is super comfy and kind of a staple piece. It was really cheap at H&M last year, but they have basically the same thing now too (see link below). I always tend to wear it with something over it because it is a little too form-fitting for me, but it always looks great with something over it. I could actually wear a sweater, tee, or even just plain tank and have the dress look more like a skirt too. Pretty versatile piece for a dress, and 100% worth the $8.00 I paid for it! I have always wanted to wear a dress paired with these little converse sneaks too, and today I made this work! It really tones down a dress by adding sneakers, and it’s not a very common look, but I always love it when I see it. Dresses and skirts are often being paired with the new trendy wedge sneakers too, but my Converse are a little more classic with this look. Like my new bright orange nail polish? I thought it was fun for the summer! 😉

This outfit was more of a rainy day outfit. As of now, it doesn’t look like the weather will be great on Thursday, so at least I already have options in my head for both weather situations! I wear this cardi pretty often – it’s kind of my go-to! It is a little more orange/coral than red, but it worked for the look and people noted my holiday spirit! I have had this little apple-print tank for so long, and it has always been one of my favorites because it is so cute, comfy and easy to throw on. I found it fitting to wear my boat shoes with this outfit, I just thought they went with the theme. Some people boat on the 4th!

July 1st! I can’t believe how fast this summer is going by. This is my second look with this maxi skirt, the first one is here. I really love how easy this skirt is to wear. A maxi always looks styled, even if you just pair it with a cute tank top or button up chambray (totally “in” right now over dresses and skirts!!). The vest that I suggested below from Nordstrom is adorable (I actually like it better than mine), perfect for adding a little something edgy to your look. Lighter pieces for layering are always popular, but are especially good for the summertime to add some style to your look. With a vest like that, all you have to add is a plain tank underneath, skinny jeans, heels and voila – you have an easy, put together, stylish look! Get on your layers ladies!!

I have been wanting these shoes for a while, and trying to figure out how to not pay full price for them (Converse never go on sale!) … then came my birthday coupons from DSW! These are the shoes I just got from DSW last weekend for $4.95! I had $40 in coupons saved and stacked up… now that’s how to save!!! I was so excited, sometimes it’s the little things in life, and it made my weekend! The slub-knit style of this tank is pretty on trend. Different shades of heathers (grey tones) are all over the market right now, lots of good, really different shades of grey to give your fabrics a modern twist!

Aren’t these wedges so fun?! I got them when I was in college for $13 at Burlington Coat Factory! They are very comfy, and perfect to jazz up an outfit without being over the top. I feel like this outfit looks like I am ready for a picnic, but I think it’s still cute 🙂
I did a sock bun post a while back (here), but here it is again, perfect for those hot days when you just need your hair off your neck, and very chic. I actually did my hair this way for a wedding last year too. Super simple and always comes out perfect, 100% worth trying out!
PS: Has everyone checked out Bloglovin’? It is a new site for bloggers from all blogging engines (wordpress, blogger, etc.) and followers to have all of their posts in one place. For me, I go to about 5 different blogger sites a day, (some of my favorites are Kacies Kloset, Ring my Bell, Kendi Everyday, A Fashion Love Affair, etc, etc, etc) AND read a bunch I follow through wordpress. This makes my life much easier, cause I can just sign, and see all of my favorite bloggers’ most up to date posts all in one place listed one after another. I set my page up yesterday, and am following all of my favorite blogs already, and really liking the idea of it so far. The site is also broken down into categories, so you can search by “fashion”, or “cooking” for example to find new blogs to follow too. Def worth looking into if you enjoy my blog! Lauren’s Look is on there too!

Tried out a different kind of look today, white on white! I was so excited it’s “ok” to wear white again that I just packed it all on 😉 This outfit worked okay, I think it would have been better if the tank was little more fitted. These are some of my favorite summer pants. We used them for a catalog photo shoot at work, and I liked them so much I went out and bought my own (#stylingproblems, #shopaholic)! They are from American Eagle last year, but they actually have a pair very similar on their site currently (link below).
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I just picked up this skirt a few weeks ago. It is very basic and inexpensive, but I want to try to get more skirts into my wardrobe, and cheaper is always better! I actually am loving how this outfit turned out! The tank is a little long, but if tucked in (or shrank a little in the washing machine) it should be okay. The shoes were the most expensive part of the outfit actually, everything else was either found on clearance or just really inexpensive… You just have to be willing to look for the deals! This is one of those feel good outfits 🙂
Hope everyone has a great long Memorial Day weekend!
