printed pant inspiration

This was my inspiration for this look. I changed it around a little and made it my own by adding the necklace, scarf, and the pop of color with my favorite clutch. The idea of mixing the printed pant with a beige top and white tank came from this stylist! Rachel Parcell of Pink Peonies has amazing style and is one of my favorite bloggers. She is 100% someone to follow for inspiration! The weather here in New England is getting a little chilly, so I had to go with a bootie rather than heels like she paired the look with, but I think I actually prefer my look!

I can’t believe it’s almost August already! This summer is going by too fast! This look is more of a casual/beachy look that I wore to work. This cute slouchy bag is one that I normally take with me to the beach, but I have been using it as more or an everyday bag lately. I have a few other bags, wallets and clutches that sadly never really got much use in the past other than their intended purpose. I have been putting some of these items to use lately and pairing them with different outfits and looks (like I did here). When attending a wedding for example, you could definitely use a wallet like a clutch, and it can really open up more options from items that you already own but probably never thought to use in that way! As long as it can provide enough space for your necessities and cell phone, what more do you really need for an event like that? We all know there are some really nice wallets out there, so why not show them off? Take a look in your closet and see what you could be carrying today to spice up your look instead of the same bag you used yesterday!

I went shopping last weekend! I had a gift card that I got for my birthday that I have been “saving”, and last Saturday was 100% the day to use it. I found SO many items that I really wanted at TJMaxx, it was a”hit” day. I am trying to save money, so I tried really hard to only buy items that I really wanted, and not to go over the amount that was on my gift card. I was proud of myself for putting things back that I didn’t “need”, and I only spent $1.16 over my budget! It was a good day for me! I ended up buying 2 dresses (the one in this post), and these fabulous Franco Sarto wedges. I have been looking for another pair of brown wedges because they go with everything. These are 4″ heels, taller than I normally wear, but they just might be the most comfortable shoes I own. Thank you Franco Sarto, I guess you will be a brand I stick with and suggest!

I have been wearing a lot of dresses lately, but it’s summertime, so why not? Running errands, working, grocery shopping… I still notice what people are wearing and how stylish they are! If you have summer dresses sitting in your closet, there is no better time to be wearing them, so dust them off and rock them before fall comes and you miss out!! It is an easy way to be chic, comfortable and stylish for the season, and who doesn’t feel good when you know you look good?!? 😉

This dress is so old! I got it years ago at the Marshall’s in my hometown of little old Londonderry, NH. It really was a good find, a hidden gem. I call this dress my “muumuu” dress cause it is kind of loose, but ridiculously comfortable and definitely not frumpy! It is super summery with the bold and bright colors, and has a great simple shape and design. Dresses that have a looser fit like a “shift” dress, or “sheath” dress are becoming more and more popular, probably because they are good at hiding stuff you want to keep hidden, and they are flattering to most women. I am actually on the hunt for a nice looser fitting dress for a wedding this summer I am attending in France. Ann Taylor and the Loft actually have a few cuties that I spotted window shopping last weekend that I need to go try on! Not places I normally shop,  because their prices are more than I like to spend, so I will have to use some coupons and let you know if I find some good pieces and get a good deal!

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading! 🙂

Another snow storm!!! I thought we would be done with winter and snow by now, but apparently not yet 😦 On a happier note, I did a little shopping this weekend, JCPenney was having a HUGE sale that you could use coupons combined too. I got a pair of dark skinny jeans and a dress for $4 each! You know that’s a good shopping day… I am so proud of myself when I get a deal like that! Today I wore my totally comfortable Audrey Brooke Heels (can’t really see in the pic, but you can see them here!) and a 3/4 sleeve marled sweater. Very comfy and kind of casual outfit. I added the scarf and necklace so the beige wasn’t so blah. Thanks for reading!

So my outfit today is pretty casual. Some days it is nice to just relax and wear something comfy, yet still styled. Almost at the end of the work week, and the last day of February, so I’ll take it! I am SO ready for the warmer weather to come back to New England… which also means I get to switch out my tired old winter clothes and bring out my fun Summer wardrobe!!! Happy Thursday, and thanks for reading!

Just bought these jeans from the Gap last weekend. I really dislike paying full price when there are so many sales, promotional codes and coupons everywhere, BUT I just love, love, LOVED the fit on these puppies. They are a little higher-waisted then I normally wear, but so soft, comfortable and I don’t have to worry about pulling them up! So far they have been worth the price, def recommend!
