Super Fall Colors

Me and my photographer had a blast doing this shoot (Thanks TT)! We took a ride down to the local farm stand and did some walking shots in between the rows of beautiful fall colored mums and picturesque apple trees. The weather was perfect and my outfit was super fall looking. This knit top came from Nordstrom last year. It is one of my favorite tops, but the quality of it is very poor. I have a very hard¬†time not putting holes in it every time I wear it, and not to mention the fact that I cannot wear a necklace with it cause it will get caught! Finally getting to the point of wearing my knee-high boots again too… and these just might be my favorite ones!

I don’t think I talk often about my bracelets, so today I have a few words! I like to wear lots of bracelets together at a time, and this outfit was perfect for that since I couldn’t wear a necklace (have to pile on the femininity somewhere!!). I am totally digging Alex and Ani Bracelets. They are the hottest thing right now, and have completely overtaken New England. If you live outside of here, you may want to stock up when you visit, cause they will make it to your town eventually and will be an instant hit. This way you can be the cool girl who had one (or 5) before everyone else ūüėČ They can be found at the Paper Store, some jewelry stores and online at their site (link below).

This is one of my first fall looks! Some of the days this fall have been cooler, and some warmer, very “New England”, so outfits are all over the place! I am wearing my favorite trench coat in these shots. I saw this Cynthia Rowley beauty last year at TJMaxx, and knew it was a winner. The mixed media top I have on is by Olivia Moon, Mixed fabric is a huge trend right now – you see it often with leather as one of the materials. It is all over the runways, blogs, and fashion retailers (good stuff at Piperlime). The printed part of the top (zebra) is a soft, satin-like fabric, while the sleeves are a marled knit. I LOVE the combo here, this was one of those tops that you see and MUST have regardless of the price (luckily it was completely reasonable — thanks TJ’s!) When you are out shopping for fall and winter items this season, make sure to get some mixed fabric tops and/or jackets to stay on trend! Happy shopping!

A Blazer is a very quick and easy way to add a little class to any look. They can really be worn with anything, and are super “in” right now. It is the perfect little jacket to grab before work on a chilly morning, wear in the office, and even totally acceptable for drinks after work too! What more can you want from a piece? This one came from H&M last year, but I have a little black one that I scored from Salvation Army for just $5. I read somewhere a while ago that Thrift stores are loaded with blazers, and boy was that article right. If you are ever strolling by, drop in and take a look for yourself, and you may just find a little deal and new jacket! Just make sure to push up or roll the sleeves, that is the trend! Happy hunting! Thanks for reading!

This cute little top came from Forever21. It can be worn with jeans for more of a low-key look, or paired with a sharp necklace, heels and skinnies for a cute night out! My look here (and my styles in general) are more “going out” than laid back. I like feeling pretty and girly, and I looove heels!! Add a cute printed or patterned clutch to this look and I am ready to go!

Summer Pop Color take 2

I have to say that the color combination of black and white with a pop color is one of my favorite looks, (see post from here¬†and here as well). This open front type of cardigan is called a “cocoon cardigan”. The style is very cute and trendy, but I have to give a tip to anyone wearing one. I had a hard time finding tops to wear underneath this cardi, until I realized what the problem with it actually was.¬†I find that when I wear a looser fitting shirt underneath this type of cardigan, it tends to make me look a lot wider and heavier than I really am. Plus, with this one, it doesn’t help that it has stripes too! So with that said, if you do decide to sport this style, please make sure you are wearing something a little more fitted underneath, so it will keep you looking slim. Hope this little note will help someone rocking this style! Thanks for reading! ūüôā

The vest and necklaces here totally make this outfit. Imagine this look without those two items… it would be acceptable, but really nothing special. It can be that easy to add a few pieces to an ensemble to pull it all together and make it look more on trend and stylish just like that.¬†This is a very simple way to spice up a look. As I have mentioned before, vests are super “in” this season – from crochet (like mine) to denim and more jacket-like vests – I am all about it! Adding dimension to an outfit is also slimming, Looser layers like this one can help hide some of the curves of your body you may want to conceal (hello love handles)!¬†To see a few other ways I have styled this vest, you can see the same one here and here.

Get more use out of your Wallet!

I can’t believe it’s almost August already! This summer is going by too fast! This look is more of a casual/beachy look that I wore to work. This cute slouchy bag is one that I normally take with me to the beach, but I have been using it as more or an everyday bag lately. I have a few other bags, wallets and clutches that sadly never really got much use in the past other than their intended purpose. I have been putting some of these items to use lately and pairing them with different outfits and looks (like I did¬†here). When attending a wedding for example, you could definitely use a wallet like a clutch, and it can really open up more options from items that you already own but probably never thought to use in that way! As long as it can provide enough space for your necessities and cell phone, what more do you really need for an event like that? We all know there are some really nice wallets out there, so why not show them off? Take a look in your closet and see what you could be carrying today to spice up your look instead of the same bag you used yesterday!

As you probably know by now, I love my bargains!! This entire outfit is pretty reasonably priced, especially when you take into account all of the layered items here! It is pretty trendy right now to layer necklaces as well as apparel. Since I normally wear statement necklaces, (it would be way overkill to layer those puppies) it was nice for a change to be able to work that jewelry trend here. H&M makes these jersey mini skirts for just $5.95 — not even on sale! They have tons of fun colors, and it is a very easy bottom to wear for summer. They are now making a jersey pencil version too,¬†Old Navy actually has a bunch for pretty cheap here¬†for more of a work-wear solution! Every other part of this outfit was not bought this year, but it’s always good when you can work in older pieces with newer styles to get more out of your wardrobe!

Gladiator Flats with any look!

Gladiator sandals have been pretty big for a few years now. They are great to help pep up any outfit, and they really go with anything – dresses, shorts, jeans or even leggings like I did here! The heel height of this style make them great for days with lots of walking, so I tend to wear them when I know I will be on my feet all day. The trend will not be disappearing any time soon,¬†so if you don’t have any gladiator sandals, go find yourself a pair! They are a good investment piece that can be rolled over season after season!
