Me and my photographer had a blast doing this shoot (Thanks TT)! We took a ride down to the local farm stand and did some walking shots in between the rows of beautiful fall colored mums and picturesque apple trees. The weather was perfect and my outfit was super fall looking. This knit top came from Nordstrom last year. It is one of my favorite tops, but the quality of it is very poor. I have a very hard¬†time not putting holes in it every time I wear it, and not to mention the fact that I cannot wear a necklace with it cause it will get caught! Finally getting to the point of wearing my knee-high boots again too… and these just might be my favorite ones!

I don’t think I talk often about my bracelets, so today I have a few words! I like to wear lots of bracelets together at a time, and this outfit was perfect for that since I couldn’t wear a necklace (have to pile on the femininity somewhere!!). I am totally digging Alex and Ani Bracelets. They are the hottest thing right now, and have completely overtaken New England. If you live outside of here, you may want to stock up when you visit, cause they will make it to your town eventually and will be an instant hit. This way you can be the cool girl who had one (or 5) before everyone else ūüėČ They can be found at the Paper Store, some jewelry stores and online at their site (link below).

Plaid Bandana

I borrowed this scarf from my mom a while ago. I love the plaid pattern and colors, but it is square-shaped, so I never really knew exactly how to wear it. I recently got back from a short trip to France, where my french sister was wearing a bandana around her neck. Plaid old, classic printed bandana – with shorts, cowboy boots and a plain tee – and she was completely adorable and super trendy! So when I got back, I tried to take this french style and make it my own, and it completely worked here! I got a lot of compliments on this scarf, and it totally made this outfit… along with my new favorite booties that I scored from TJMaxx for just $35! Ankle booties are super trendy right now, and are perfect for seasonal weather like we have had lately in New England! TJ’s had a pretty good stock!

Spots from the Loft

Trying to get a few more summer looks in before it gets too cold in New England! On one hand I get really upset that the sunny warm summer months are coming to an end and my pool days are down to zero. O the other hand though, I get a little excited to switch up my wardrobe and start wearing warmer clothes again. It is almost like getting a whole new wardrobe because my clothes have been put away in a trunk all summer just awaiting my return in the fall! So I am a little happy to be seeing them soon… and happy to share some new fall looks with you too!

There are so many great sales currently at retail of summer clothes! If you were missing a few items that you never got around to purchasing this year, now is the time to get them — on clearance and while you still can! I saw this cute top on clearance at the Loft a few weeks ago, amongst many other cute things I wanted to buy… had to pull myself away! Thanks for reading! I am hoping to get back on track with my posts in the coming weeks!

Loose knit marled sweater

Love the loose knit and marled combination of this sweater! I got this a few years ago from forever 21, where some true gems can really be found as long as you are patient and willing to go digging! I just grabbed a really cute multi-fabric sweater from TJMaxx today too, that looks a little similar to this one. This fabric has little neps in it of other colors — grey, black and white, that usually is called “marled”. It really gives the piece a lot more life. Just have to be careful of pulling with the loose knit process, but def trending this fall!

Summer Pop Color take 2

I have to say that the color combination of black and white with a pop color is one of my favorite looks, (see post from here¬†and here as well). This open front type of cardigan is called a “cocoon cardigan”. The style is very cute and trendy, but I have to give a tip to anyone wearing one. I had a hard time finding tops to wear underneath this cardi, until I realized what the problem with it actually was.¬†I find that when I wear a looser fitting shirt underneath this type of cardigan, it tends to make me look a lot wider and heavier than I really am. Plus, with this one, it doesn’t help that it has stripes too! So with that said, if you do decide to sport this style, please make sure you are wearing something a little more fitted underneath, so it will keep you looking slim. Hope this little note will help someone rocking this style! Thanks for reading! ūüôā

Mixed Print dress

The trend of mixing prints is huge right now. I have not yet been able to master the look of mixing prints with two pieces, but the style can work with a dress like this one (and it is effortless) I got this dress last year really cheap from JCPenney, and I thought it was so ugly that it was cute… I actually refer to it as my “ugly dress”! With back to school shopping just around the corner, it may be a good trend to learn towards if you think you are daring enough to pull it off!

A lot of blogs have been doing looks that consist of chic black and white looks. Inspired, I pulled together this outfit from items I already owned. The tank is from JCPenney last year, very simple and casual, but worked perfectly with this look. I scoured the interwebs to find a bunch of other cute black and white tank top options if you are interested in trying this look on your own! Check you closet first though, cause you may already own a nice top you could pair with white pants to recreate this look in your own way! Make sure to add a nice pop color into your look – it is super trendy and cute, and perfect for the warmer summer months. Sometimes you can work in a few pop colors, like I did here with the necklace and clutch. Hope everyone tried this look out, it is very chic and kind of fun! Happy hunting, and have a great weekend!

It could be the two-tone necklace, the gold chain-laced straps, or the white and gold mix that give off a Grecian vibe to this look. It was a very hot day, and the simplicity of this outfit was perfect for fighting the heat! This “braided” braid is my new favorite summer hair style. Since my hair has a lot of layers, when I do a regular braid, I always have pieces sticking out everywhere. With this style of braid, everything is very tight and there are no little ends sticking out. It is so easy to do, stays in all day and is hassle free! 3 Steps: Separate hair into 3 sections like you would to do a regular braid. Braid each section as its own braid. Then, use each braid as you would with sections, and braid them together. Good luck to all who attempt this easy breezy summer style! ūüôā

Outfit #1 info:

This striped dress is super comfy and kind of a staple piece. It was really cheap at H&M last year, but they have basically the same thing now too (see link below). I always tend to wear it with something over it because it is a little too form-fitting for me, but it always looks great with something over it. I could actually wear a sweater, tee, or even just plain tank and have the dress look more like a skirt too. Pretty versatile piece for a dress, and 100% worth the $8.00 I paid for it! I have always wanted to wear a dress paired with these little converse sneaks too, and today I made this work! It really tones down a dress by adding sneakers, and it’s not a very common look, but I always love it when I see it. Dresses and skirts are often being paired with the new trendy wedge sneakers too, but my Converse are a little more classic with this look. Like my new bright orange nail polish? I thought it was fun for the summer! ūüėČ

Outfit #2 Info:

This outfit was more of a rainy day outfit. As of now, it doesn’t look like the weather will be great on Thursday, so at least I already have options in my head for both weather situations! I wear this cardi pretty often – it’s kind of my go-to! It is a little more orange/coral than red, but it worked for the look and people noted my holiday spirit! I have had this little apple-print tank for so long, and it has always been one of my favorites because it is so cute, comfy and easy to throw on. I found it fitting to wear my boat shoes with this outfit, I just thought they went with the theme. Some people boat on the 4th!
