A Blazer is a very quick and easy way to add a little class to any look. They can really be worn with anything, and are super “in” right now. It is the perfect little jacket to grab before work on a chilly morning, wear in the office, and even totally acceptable for drinks after work too! What more can you want from a piece? This one came from H&M last year, but I have a little black one that I scored from Salvation Army for just $5. I read somewhere a while ago that Thrift stores are loaded with blazers, and boy was that article right. If you are ever strolling by, drop in and take a look for yourself, and you may just find a little deal and new jacket! Just make sure to push up or roll the sleeves, that is the trend! Happy hunting! Thanks for reading!

Loose knit marled sweater

Love the loose knit and marled combination of this sweater! I got this a few years ago from forever 21, where some true gems can really be found as long as you are patient and willing to go digging! I just grabbed a really cute multi-fabric sweater from TJMaxx today too, that looks a little similar to this one. This fabric has little neps in it of other colors — grey, black and white, that usually is called “marled”. It really gives the piece a lot more life. Just have to be careful of pulling with the loose knit process, but def trending this fall!

A lot of blogs have been doing looks that consist of chic black and white looks. Inspired, I pulled together this outfit from items I already owned. The tank is from JCPenney last year, very simple and casual, but worked perfectly with this look. I scoured the interwebs to find a bunch of other cute black and white tank top options if you are interested in trying this look on your own! Check you closet first though, cause you may already own a nice top you could pair with white pants to recreate this look in your own way! Make sure to add a nice pop color into your look – it is super trendy and cute, and perfect for the warmer summer months. Sometimes you can work in a few pop colors, like I did here with the necklace and clutch. Hope everyone tried this look out, it is very chic and kind of fun! Happy hunting, and have a great weekend!

It could be the two-tone necklace, the gold chain-laced straps, or the white and gold mix that give off a Grecian vibe to this look. It was a very hot day, and the simplicity of this outfit was perfect for fighting the heat! This “braided” braid is my new favorite summer hair style. Since my hair has a lot of layers, when I do a regular braid, I always have pieces sticking out everywhere. With this style of braid, everything is very tight and there are no little ends sticking out. It is so easy to do, stays in all day and is hassle free! 3 Steps: Separate hair into 3 sections like you would to do a regular braid. Braid each section as its own braid. Then, use each braid as you would with sections, and braid them together. Good luck to all who attempt this easy breezy summer style! 🙂

Get more use out of your Wallet!

I can’t believe it’s almost August already! This summer is going by too fast! This look is more of a casual/beachy look that I wore to work. This cute slouchy bag is one that I normally take with me to the beach, but I have been using it as more or an everyday bag lately. I have a few other bags, wallets and clutches that sadly never really got much use in the past other than their intended purpose. I have been putting some of these items to use lately and pairing them with different outfits and looks (like I did here). When attending a wedding for example, you could definitely use a wallet like a clutch, and it can really open up more options from items that you already own but probably never thought to use in that way! As long as it can provide enough space for your necessities and cell phone, what more do you really need for an event like that? We all know there are some really nice wallets out there, so why not show them off? Take a look in your closet and see what you could be carrying today to spice up your look instead of the same bag you used yesterday!

Doubles as a vest!

So this was the first time I decided to unbutton this shirt and wear it as a vest… I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner, but now I may need to do a once-over of my closet and see what else I can wear this way as well! I love this top, and I get a lot of compliments every time I wear it! American Rag really has some great stuff, you can find it in the Junior’s section at Macy’s for pretty decent prices. There are a lot of really cute details in this shirt – the tie back, the cute floral print and little pleating detail shown in the close-up photo. It’s really a very simple outfit, but worked for a sticky humid day in Massachusetts! Vests, layers and overshirts are all very popular this year, so a tip – take a closer look through your closet at your button ups, tanks and tee’s, because some may be able to double as a vest! This is a great way to save money and get more wear out of the clothes you already own!

Pretty simple look for a hot summer day! Still loving these Converse sneakers, and still seeing them on a lot of other blogs too. I don’t own too many hats (especially for someone who works for a hat company!!!), but this is my favorite one. I have a really small head, so I have a very hard time finding hats to fit me. I usually wear kids hats and sunglasses, but it’s hard to find stuff that doesn’t look too “kiddy”. This hat was specially made for my little head 🙂

My boyfriend’s parents just got a new Bernese Mountain puppy, and she is so adorable. Puppies are one of my favorite things ever. She posed with me so perfectly in these photo’s! 🙂

Outfit #1 info:

This striped dress is super comfy and kind of a staple piece. It was really cheap at H&M last year, but they have basically the same thing now too (see link below). I always tend to wear it with something over it because it is a little too form-fitting for me, but it always looks great with something over it. I could actually wear a sweater, tee, or even just plain tank and have the dress look more like a skirt too. Pretty versatile piece for a dress, and 100% worth the $8.00 I paid for it! I have always wanted to wear a dress paired with these little converse sneaks too, and today I made this work! It really tones down a dress by adding sneakers, and it’s not a very common look, but I always love it when I see it. Dresses and skirts are often being paired with the new trendy wedge sneakers too, but my Converse are a little more classic with this look. Like my new bright orange nail polish? I thought it was fun for the summer! 😉

Outfit #2 Info:

This outfit was more of a rainy day outfit. As of now, it doesn’t look like the weather will be great on Thursday, so at least I already have options in my head for both weather situations! I wear this cardi pretty often – it’s kind of my go-to! It is a little more orange/coral than red, but it worked for the look and people noted my holiday spirit! I have had this little apple-print tank for so long, and it has always been one of my favorites because it is so cute, comfy and easy to throw on. I found it fitting to wear my boat shoes with this outfit, I just thought they went with the theme. Some people boat on the 4th!

My favorite “MuuMuu” dress

This dress is so old! I got it years ago at the Marshall’s in my hometown of little old Londonderry, NH. It really was a good find, a hidden gem. I call this dress my “muumuu” dress cause it is kind of loose, but ridiculously comfortable and definitely not frumpy! It is super summery with the bold and bright colors, and has a great simple shape and design. Dresses that have a looser fit like a “shift” dress, or “sheath” dress are becoming more and more popular, probably because they are good at hiding stuff you want to keep hidden, and they are flattering to most women. I am actually on the hunt for a nice looser fitting dress for a wedding this summer I am attending in France. Ann Taylor and the Loft actually have a few cuties that I spotted window shopping last weekend that I need to go try on! Not places I normally shop,  because their prices are more than I like to spend, so I will have to use some coupons and let you know if I find some good pieces and get a good deal!

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading! 🙂
