printed pant inspiration

This was my inspiration for this look. I changed it around a little and made it my own by adding the necklace, scarf, and the pop of color with my favorite clutch. The idea of mixing the printed pant with a beige top and white tank came from this stylist! Rachel Parcell of Pink Peonies has amazing style and is one of my favorite bloggers. She is 100% someone to follow for inspiration! The weather here in New England is getting a little chilly, so I had to go with a bootie rather than heels like she paired the look with, but I think I actually prefer my look!

A lot of blogs have been doing looks that consist of chic black and white looks. Inspired, I pulled together this outfit from items I already owned. The tank is from JCPenney last year, very simple and casual, but worked perfectly with this look. I scoured the interwebs to find a bunch of other cute black and white tank top options if you are interested in trying this look on your own! Check you closet first though, cause you may already own a nice top you could pair with white pants to recreate this look in your own way! Make sure to add a nice pop color into your look – it is super trendy and cute, and perfect for the warmer summer months. Sometimes you can work in a few pop colors, like I did here with the necklace and clutch. Hope everyone tried this look out, it is very chic and kind of fun! Happy hunting, and have a great weekend!

Doubles as a vest!

So this was the first time I decided to unbutton this shirt and wear it as a vest… I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner, but now I may need to do a once-over of my closet and see what else I can wear this way as well! I love this top, and I get a lot of compliments every time I wear it! American Rag really has some great stuff, you can find it in the Junior’s section at Macy’s for pretty decent prices. There are a lot of really cute details in this shirt – the tie back, the cute floral print and little pleating detail shown in the close-up photo. It’s really a very simple outfit, but worked for a sticky humid day in Massachusetts! Vests, layers and overshirts are all very popular this year, so a tip – take a closer look through your closet at your button ups, tanks and tee’s, because some may be able to double as a vest! This is a great way to save money and get more wear out of the clothes you already own!

Gladiator Flats with any look!

Gladiator sandals have been pretty big for a few years now. They are great to help pep up any outfit, and they really go with anything – dresses, shorts, jeans or even leggings like I did here! The heel height of this style make them great for days with lots of walking, so I tend to wear them when I know I will be on my feet all day. The trend will not be disappearing any time soon, so if you don’t have any gladiator sandals, go find yourself a pair! They are a good investment piece that can be rolled over season after season!

Summer Day Dress

Another summer sun dress! Hope everyone had a good Holiday weekend, mine was nice and relaxing! This is such a cute summer dress, who would have thought that a seagull print would be so fun?!? There are so many sun dress options out there, and as I have said before, it is such an easy outfit that always looks cute and stylish. Plus, it is always nice to not have to think about what pair with your colored jeans or fun skirts, your outfit is already complete with a dress. EASY! These photo’s were taken in my back yard… I like to garden, so I am totally loving all of the blooming flowers in the background!

50 shades of Yellow

Yellow skinny jeans are the ultimate summer pants! There are SO many shades of yellow running around this year, from the neon highlighter skinnies to more of a mustard/gold tone. The colors make you look tan whatever shade you decide to purchase, and the color is so light and fun for the sunny summer months! I do wear these yellow pants often, but really like so many other shades that I see and want — like the neon tones.  I try to restrain… one pair of yellow pants should be enough… for now at least! I try my best to shop smart and not buy things I basically already have, but maybe next year I will find a pair that has a little more difference in it!

Memorial Day Maxi

So today I’m wearing my outfit from the Memorial day party I attended. I thought this was fun, cute and pretty casual for a party look… I actually felt like I was wearing my PJ’s! This maxi skirt is so soft and effortless, I am going to have to start wearing it more often! I always have a hard time finding something toned down enough to wear this necklace with, but thought it worked well  with this neckline. I got this necklace a year ago while visiting my friend is Florida, at Charming Charlie, which we now have in MA too. She described the store to me as a grown up version of Claire’s, and she was dead on! If you have not been here yet, it is worth checking out!

Color Block trench coat and printed top

A trench coat can really add a little chic to any outfit. The outfit posted here is just a printed tee,  black skinny jeans and heels. On its own it’s a little dull, but throw this coat into the mix ad you have a simple solution to looking more stylish! This coat came from TJMaxx (by Cynthia Rowley) and was around $40. Not bad!

These are my new ankle strap sandals (love!). This style of sandal is very popular this year. If you don’t like to wear heels, the same style is also available in flats too (like here for just $16, that’s a good deal!), Or they make them in wedges too (like here)! The 2-tone like the links I shared are very popular too. Zara has a bunch of cute versions too that are decently priced, which I was looking into buying, but I still wanted a better deal, and I found these puppies! They were on clearance at Target last weekend for just $20! Can’t beat that! There are a lot of options out there, you don’t have to break the bank for this chic summer look.

“Brights” Out

Brights are showing up more and more as we move further through spring and closer to summer! Pastels and floral prints are good for spring, but bright pop colors are fun and trendy for summer, and they look awesome with a tan! I may be a little early on the vibrant colors, but I got a hint of summer on my recent vacation to Florida, and now I am even more eager for the warm summer weather! I feel like I look healthier with a tan too!

I Nabbed this top a few weeks ago from JCPenney, for just $15 (with a coupon) and I love the color! I always park at JCPenney when I go to the mall, so I walk through the store a lot, and stuff is constantly catching my eye. I can never get out without trying on at least one thing (and by 1 thing I mean 5)! Maybe I should consider parking somewhere else, but I get some good finds there, and you really can’t beat the prices!

Black and Leopard

I love these boots. You can see my story behind them here! Basic tee’s whether long or short sleeve can really be dressed up with accessories. It is also pretty cheap to wear an outfit like this, as basics are usually under $10, and accessories can be cheap if you are savvy about it! Prints are very big this spring,  so make sure you have some printed tops, scarves and even bottoms if you are daring enough! I haven’t decided yet if I can pull off printed bottoms… and it is all about the confidence! I guess we will see! Have a nice weekend!
