MEET LAUREN CHAGNON: ’47 BRAND STYLIST
How would you define your style?
How would you define your style?
Trying to get a few more summer looks in before it gets too cold in New England! On one hand I get really upset that the sunny warm summer months are coming to an end and my pool days are down to zero. O the other hand though, I get a little excited to switch up my wardrobe and start wearing warmer clothes again. It is almost like getting a whole new wardrobe because my clothes have been put away in a trunk all summer just awaiting my return in the fall! So I am a little happy to be seeing them soon… and happy to share some new fall looks with you too!
There are so many great sales currently at retail of summer clothes! If you were missing a few items that you never got around to purchasing this year, now is the time to get them — on clearance and while you still can! I saw this cute top on clearance at the Loft a few weeks ago, amongst many other cute things I wanted to buy… had to pull myself away! Thanks for reading! I am hoping to get back on track with my posts in the coming weeks!

I had a big role in our company’s “MLB Night Game” Fashion show held back in May. We flew out to Chicago for a long weekend and finally were able to attend the event we had worked so hard on for so many weeks. We had to do all of the planning without meeting any of the models, seeing how the clothing fit them, and without seeing the venue. Tough to create a great event without being able to see so many different aspects of it all! The show went off flawless, the models were great, the product was welcomed with excitement and cheering, and the night was a homerun (pun intended)! I am so happy and excited to share some of the work I do at my day job! Please click on the photo above to watch the video, and see photo’s below for a few other shots from the night!

A lot of blogs have been doing looks that consist of chic black and white looks. Inspired, I pulled together this outfit from items I already owned. The tank is from JCPenney last year, very simple and casual, but worked perfectly with this look. I scoured the interwebs to find a bunch of other cute black and white tank top options if you are interested in trying this look on your own! Check you closet first though, cause you may already own a nice top you could pair with white pants to recreate this look in your own way! Make sure to add a nice pop color into your look – it is super trendy and cute, and perfect for the warmer summer months. Sometimes you can work in a few pop colors, like I did here with the necklace and clutch. Hope everyone tried this look out, it is very chic and kind of fun! Happy hunting, and have a great weekend!

Outfit #1 info:
This striped dress is super comfy and kind of a staple piece. It was really cheap at H&M last year, but they have basically the same thing now too (see link below). I always tend to wear it with something over it because it is a little too form-fitting for me, but it always looks great with something over it. I could actually wear a sweater, tee, or even just plain tank and have the dress look more like a skirt too. Pretty versatile piece for a dress, and 100% worth the $8.00 I paid for it! I have always wanted to wear a dress paired with these little converse sneaks too, and today I made this work! It really tones down a dress by adding sneakers, and it’s not a very common look, but I always love it when I see it. Dresses and skirts are often being paired with the new trendy wedge sneakers too, but my Converse are a little more classic with this look. Like my new bright orange nail polish? I thought it was fun for the summer! 😉

Outfit #2 Info:
This outfit was more of a rainy day outfit. As of now, it doesn’t look like the weather will be great on Thursday, so at least I already have options in my head for both weather situations! I wear this cardi pretty often – it’s kind of my go-to! It is a little more orange/coral than red, but it worked for the look and people noted my holiday spirit! I have had this little apple-print tank for so long, and it has always been one of my favorites because it is so cute, comfy and easy to throw on. I found it fitting to wear my boat shoes with this outfit, I just thought they went with the theme. Some people boat on the 4th!

July 1st! I can’t believe how fast this summer is going by. This is my second look with this maxi skirt, the first one is here. I really love how easy this skirt is to wear. A maxi always looks styled, even if you just pair it with a cute tank top or button up chambray (totally “in” right now over dresses and skirts!!). The vest that I suggested below from Nordstrom is adorable (I actually like it better than mine), perfect for adding a little something edgy to your look. Lighter pieces for layering are always popular, but are especially good for the summertime to add some style to your look. With a vest like that, all you have to add is a plain tank underneath, skinny jeans, heels and voila – you have an easy, put together, stylish look! Get on your layers ladies!!

When trying to decide between colors while shopping, this is the Color of the year! Happy shopping! 🙂
“Pantone 17-5641 Emerald, a lively, radiant, lush… A colour of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.” (Quoted from http://au.pantone.com/pages/index.aspx?pg=21055)
This beautiful colour has made it as the colour of the year! It has inspired designers all over the world to create works of art in this colour.
Being born in the month of May my birth stone happens to be the Emerald so finding out it was the colour of the year I was really excited! We see green in nature more than any other colour in the spectrum. It brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is vital in my crazy life, it really calms me down as I’m such a stress head.
So I just had to post this because it was really funny. My photographer (Thanks TT) caught all of my really “pretty” expressions just after I kicked my own foot while walking for this shoot. These pictures just made me laugh, so I thought I would pass it along to spread a little laughter. Although they are a little embarrassing, sometimes these things happen, and in this case, it was all caught on film, so why not share? You have to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes! Enjoy 😉
